ACT EA2002 üvegszál SC-ST duplex adapter

The ACT Fiber optic adapter SC-ST duplex EA2002 is a duplex multimode coupling device that enables connection between SC and ST terminated fiber optic cables. Designed for multimode networks, the adapter provides a straightforward mechanical interface to mate SC and ST connectors with precise alignment and low insertion loss. The adapter's beige housing offers a neutral appearance suitable for equipment racks, patch panels, and wall-mounted enclosures where SC and ST terminations must be joined.

Advantages

This SC-ST duplex adapter supports duplex multimode links, ensuring consistent optical alignment between the ferrules of SC and ST connectors. It reduces signal reflections and minimizes insertion loss through a stable coupling mechanism and quality ceramic/alignment sleeve construction. The compact, durable housing is designed for repeated insertions and reliable mechanical performance in patching operations.

Suitable for

• Linking multimode SC-terminated patch cords to ST-terminated equipment or cabling
• Temporary or permanent connections in data centers and telecommunications rooms
• Use in patch panels, wall plates, and fiber distribution frames
• Laboratory testing and field maintenance where mixed connector types are present

Key specifications

• Connector types: SC to ST (duplex)
• Fiber mode: Multimode
• Number of channels: 2 (duplex)
• Housing color: Beige
• Alignment sleeve: Precision ceramic or equivalent for low insertion loss
• Operating temperature range: Standard commercial range suitable for indoor installations
• Mounting style: Inline adapter for panel or bulkhead use

How to use

Insert the SC connector of one multimode patch cord into the SC side of the adapter until it clicks into position, then insert the corresponding ST connector into the ST side and secure it by the bayonet twist if required. Ensure both connectors are clean and free of dust or debris before mating to maintain optimal optical performance. When used on patch panels or wall plates, align the adapter with the panel cutout and secure it according to the panel's mounting method.

Recommendations

Clean fiber endfaces with approved fiber cleaning tools before connection, avoid bending fibers beyond their minimum bend radius, and store unused ports with dust caps to preserve adapter performance. For consistent network performance, use matching multimode fiber types and test insertion loss after installation.
