CBO SFA21BK6 optikai csillapító egymódusú LC simplex 6 dB

The Optical attenuator CBO SFA21BK6 Singlemode LC Simplex 6 dB is an inline passive device designed to reduce optical signal power by 6 decibels in singlemode fiber links. It features an LC simplex connector for compact, front-panel or patch-cord integration and is suitable for test setups, optical power balancing and protecting sensitive receivers from overload. The attenuator is compatible with standard singlemode transmission wavelengths and provides a consistent attenuation level without requiring power or configuration.

Advantages

This LC simplex attenuator delivers a precise 6 dB attenuation value in a compact format, enabling straightforward insertion into existing fiber runs. The passive design means no external power is needed and the device introduces minimal additional complexity to the link. Its LC connector format and durable housing support quick installation in patch panels, adapter plates or directly on transceiver ports, while maintaining stable optical performance for routine testing and link adjustment tasks.

Suitable for

• Reducing optical power to prevent receiver saturation
• Balancing optical levels across fiber links and channels
• Laboratory and field test setups requiring fixed attenuation
• Integration into patch panels or direct connection to transceivers with LC ports

Key specifications

• Attenuation: fixed 6 dB
• Fiber type: singlemode
• Connector format: LC simplex
• Operating wavelengths: compatible with standard singlemode wavelengths (e.g., 1310 nm, 1490 nm, 1550 nm)
• Insertion loss tolerance and return loss: designed for low additional loss and standard return loss performance for passive inline attenuators
• Package: compact inline housing suitable for patch panel and direct-port use

How to use

Insert the attenuator inline between the transmitting fiber source and the receiving device by connecting the LC simplex ferrule to the corresponding LC connector on the patch cord or port. Ensure connectors are clean before mating to avoid contamination-related signal degradation. Once connected, the device provides a fixed 6 dB reduction in optical power; no setup or power source is required. For reversible changes, simply unplug the attenuator to restore the original signal level.

Recommendations

Always inspect and clean fiber connectors prior to insertion and follow standard fiber handling procedures. Use the attenuator at wavelengths and power levels appropriate for singlemode links, and avoid exceeding receiver and fiber maximum power ratings. For precise link budgeting, account for the fixed 6 dB attenuation plus any additional connector or patch-cord losses.
