HP 1GbE LAN Flex Port 2020 – LAN port Workstation Z2 G5

The LAN Flex Port 2020 HP 1GbE is a wired Ethernet interface designed for internal installation in servers and network devices. It supports a maximum data transfer rate of 1000 Mbit/s and provides a stable gigabit connection for data-intensive tasks. The module's black and blue colour scheme is consistent with HP design language and it integrates with compatible HP platforms to extend or replace existing network ports.

Advantages

This LAN Flex Port offers gigabit performance suitable for standard and high-throughput network environments while maintaining compatibility with wired Ethernet infrastructure. Its internal form factor reduces external cabling complexity and helps centralise connectivity within the host system. The device is engineered for reliable data transmission and low-latency operation across local area networks.

Suitable for

• Server network expansion and port replacement
• Data centre uplinks and aggregation
• Virtualisation hosts and hyperconverged infrastructure
• General wired LAN connectivity for office and enterprise environments

Key specifications

• Connectivity technology: Wired Ethernet
• Interface: Ethernet
• Maximum data transfer rate: 1000 Mbit/s (1 Gbps)
• Product colour: Black and Blue
• Form factor: Internal module for vendor-compatible systems

How to use

Install the LAN Flex Port 2020 into the appropriate internal expansion slot or port bay of a compatible HP server or network device following the device manufacturer's installation procedure. Ensure the host system is powered down or placed in maintenance mode before insertion. After physical installation, connect a standard Cat5e or higher Ethernet cable to the port and configure network settings in the operating system or management interface to enable the 1GbE link.

Recommendations

Use shielded or unshielded twisted-pair Ethernet cables rated for gigabit operation (Cat5e or higher). Verify firmware and driver compatibility with the host platform and apply vendor updates as needed to ensure optimal performance and stability.
