Knipex 85 51 180 C tömlővágó fogó

The Knipex 85 51 180 C hose cutting pliers are compact hand tools designed for accurate cutting of rubber and plastic hoses. Constructed from chromium-vanadium steel, the tool offers durability and edge retention for repeated use. With an overall length of 18 cm and a cutting head width of approximately 51 mm, the pliers combine compact dimensions with a work-oriented geometry. Ergonomic plastic handles provide a secure, comfortable grip for longer jobs and help control cutting force precisely.

Advantages

Resilient chromium-vanadium steel construction ensures long service life and resistance to wear. The compact 18 cm length allows access to confined spaces and facilitates precise, controlled cuts. A cutting head sized around 51 mm is suitable for a variety of hose diameters encountered in automotive, workshop, and domestic tasks. Ergonomic plastic handles reduce hand fatigue and improve grip security during repetitive cutting operations.

Suitable for

• Cutting rubber and plastic hoses in automotive maintenance
• Trimming fuel, coolant and vacuum lines
• Workshop hose servicing and replacement
• DIY plumbing and garden hose repairs

Key specifications

• Material: chromium-vanadium steel
• Overall length: 180 mm
• Cutting head width: 51 mm (approx.)
• Handle type: ergonomic plastic handles
• Primary use: precision hose cutting

How to use

Position the hose cutting pliers so the hose is centered in the cutting jaws, apply steady pressure to close the handles and slice through the hose in a controlled motion. For clean cuts, stabilise the hose close to the cutting zone and use a single smooth cutting action without twisting. After cutting, inspect the hose end and, if necessary, trim any uneven edges with a repeat controlled cut. Keep hands and other body parts clear of the cutting area during operation.

Recommendations

Use the pliers only on materials within the tool’s intended range: rubber and plastic hoses. Avoid cutting metal-reinforced hoses or other hard materials that can damage the cutting edge. Clean and dry the tool after use and store in a dry place to minimise corrosion. If cutting thicker or abrasive hoses frequently, consider periodic sharpening or professional servicing to maintain cutting performance.
