Knipex 87 05 300 vízpumpafogó

The Knipex 87 05 300 tongue-and-groove pliers (Cobra high‑tech water pump pliers) are designed for gripping and turning pipes and nuts. With a total length of 300 mm, a maximum pipe capacity of 70 mm and a nut capacity of 60 mm, these pliers combine a robust forged chrome‑vanadium electric steel construction with an oil‑hardened finish for durable workshop and trade use.

Advantages

The pliers feature an easy one‑hand push‑button adjustment that allows quick setting directly on the workpiece and fine adjustment for precise adaptation to different diameters and a comfortable handle width. The self‑locking jaw reduces slipping on pipes and nuts and lowers the hand force required. Hardened gripping surfaces (approx. 61 HRC) provide high wear resistance and stable gripping. A box‑joint design ensures high stability through a double guide, and a secure hinge catch prevents unintentional shifting. A finger guard reduces the risk of pinching.

Suitable for

• Gripping, turning and holding round pipes up to 70 mm diameter
• Loosening and tightening nuts up to 60 mm
• Plumbing, installation and general mechanical work

How to use

Position the upper jaw on the workpiece, press the push button and slide the lower jaw until the pliers sit snugly on the pipe or nut. Release the button to lock the selected setting. Apply turning force while keeping the handle axis aligned with the workpiece to maintain the self‑locking action and reduce the required hand force. After use, clean off dirt and store the pliers dry to protect the oil‑hardened surface.

Recommendations

Use the push‑button adjustment to set the correct jaw width on the workpiece rather than pre‑setting the pliers off the job. Avoid using the pliers on hardened fasteners or as a hammer. Regularly check for wear on the gripping teeth and keep the hinge pivot clean and lightly lubricated.
