Knipex 95 12 500 oldalvágó

The Knipex 95 12 500 side-cutting pliers are long-reach cutters with a total length of 500 mm, designed for precise cutting of copper and aluminium single conductors and multi-stranded cables. The forged, oil-hardened vanadium electric steel cutter head with precision-ground, hardened blades delivers clean, smooth cuts without crushing or deformation. An adjustable bolted joint and aluminium-tube handles provide high leverage while keeping weight low.

Advantages

Short cutting head and long handles create a high leverage ratio that reduces required handforce. Precision-ground, hardened blades ensure clean cuts in copper and aluminium conductors. The aluminium-tube handles keep overall tool weight low, and a guard protects the operator’s fingers. The bolted joint is adjustable for maintenance and consistent cutting performance.

Suitable for

• Cutting copper single conductors
• Cutting aluminium single conductors
• Cutting multiple-stranded electrical cables
• Use in electrical installation and maintenance work

Key specifications

• Brand: Knipex
• Model: 95 12 500
• Length: 500 mm
• Cutting length: approx. 27 mm
• Weight: approx. 1.09 kg
• Cutter head material: vanadium electric steel, forged, oil-hardened
• Handles: aluminium tube, high-strength
• Not suitable for steel wire or wire ropes

How to use

Position the conductor as close as possible to the cutter blades for a clean cut. Squeeze the handles evenly to close the precision-ground blades until the conductor is severed. Adjust the bolted joint if necessary to maintain blade alignment and cutting quality. Keep fingers clear of the guard area and ensure the material being cut is within the tool’s intended use (copper and aluminium conductors, multi-stranded cables).

Recommendations

Do not use these pliers on steel wire, wire ropes, or materials harder than copper or aluminium to avoid blade damage. Regularly inspect and, if needed, tighten the bolted joint to preserve cutting performance and ensure safe operation.
