Mozgásérzékelő Merten MEG5522-0019

The Merten MEG5522-0019 motion detector is a wired infrared sensor engineered for indoor occupancy and movement detection. Designed for mounting on ceilings or walls, the device provides reliable presence detection with a maximum sensing range of up to 7 meters. Its IP20 protection rating makes it suitable for a variety of indoor environments where protection against contact with solid objects is required. The compact design and wired connection provide stable operation without the need for batteries.

Advantages

The motion detector offers precise infrared sensing with a clear maximum detection distance of 7 meters and flexible installation options on both ceilings and walls. The wired configuration ensures continuous power supply and stable signal performance, avoiding interruptions associated with battery-powered units. With an IP20 rating the unit is protected against solid objects over 12.5 mm, making it appropriate for standard indoor areas such as offices, corridors and residential rooms. The sensor’s compact form factor allows discreet integration into existing interiors.

Suitable for

• Indoor lighting automation in offices and meeting rooms
• Corridor and stairwell presence detection
• Residential room occupancy sensing for energy management
• Integration into building control systems requiring wired infrared sensors

Key specifications

• Type: Wired infrared passive motion detector
• Detection range: up to 7 meters
• Mounting: ceiling or wall installation
• Protection class: IP20 (protection against solid objects >12.5 mm)
• Suitable environment: indoor use
• Design: compact form factor for discreet mounting

How to use

Install the detector on a stable ceiling or wall surface at an appropriate height to achieve the specified detection range, following applicable electrical safety rules and local installation standards. Connect the device to the building’s low-voltage wired control or lighting circuit according to the wiring diagram provided with the product. After powering the circuit, adjust the orientation so the sensor’s field of view covers the intended area. Perform functional tests to confirm detection coverage and correct switching behaviour before finalizing the installation.

Recommendations

For reliable detection performance, mount the sensor where its field of view is not obstructed by large objects or heavy curtains and avoid locations with direct exposure to heating vents or reflective surfaces that may affect infrared sensing. Use the motion detector as part of a wired lighting or building automation setup to ensure continuous operation and minimal maintenance.
