Olympus ME 31 mikrofon

The Olympus ME 31 is a wired unidirectional microphone engineered for clear close-up audio capture. Its directional pickup focuses on sound originating from the front of the capsule while reducing ambient and off-axis noise, which helps obtain intelligible speech and focused recordings. The microphone’s solid mechanical design and wired connection ensure a stable signal path and predictable performance in field interviews, lectures, or studio voice capture when used with compatible Olympus equipment.

Advantages

The unidirectional polar pattern provides improved isolation of the primary sound source, reducing background interference without digital processing. The wired connection offers consistent audio transmission with minimal latency and no reliance on batteries or wireless pairing. Durable construction and straightforward connector compatibility make the microphone suitable for repeated use in diverse locations and simple to integrate with Olympus recorders and devices that support the connector type.

Suitable for

• Interviews and news gathering
• Field recording and documentary work
• Lectures, presentations and spoken-word recording
• Podcasting when a directional wired microphone is preferred

Key specifications

• Pickup pattern: Unidirectional (cardioid-type behavior for front-focused capture)
• Connectivity: Wired connection for stable audio output
• Construction: Robust mechanical housing designed for field use
• Primary use: Close-microphone speech and single-source recording

How to use

Position the Olympus ME 31 with the front of the microphone facing the sound source and keep it at an appropriate distance to balance clarity and natural tone. Connect the microphone to a compatible Olympus recorder or device via the wired connector, ensuring a secure connection before recording. Monitor levels on the recorder and adjust input gain to avoid clipping, speaking at expected volume while performing test recordings to confirm correct placement and settings.

Recommendations

For best results, use the microphone in environments where the primary sound source is directly in front and unwanted ambient noise can be kept to a minimum. When recording outdoors or in noisy locations, combine directional placement with close-miking techniques and wind protection as needed. Verify compatibility and connector type with your Olympus device prior to use to ensure reliable operation.
