SAS-kábel Supermicro CBL-SAST-0556

The Supermicro CBL-SAST-0556 is a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) breakout cable that connects a mini SAS port to four SATA drives. Designed for internal server and workstation storage systems, this cable provides a compact, single-cable solution to link SAS controllers or expanders with multiple SATA hard drives or SSDs. Available in black and white, it offers reliable high-speed data transmission suitable for RAID arrays, backup solutions, and mass storage configurations.

Advantages

This SAS cable consolidates four SATA connections into one mini SAS interface, reducing cable clutter and simplifying installation in dense storage environments. Its male mini SAS to male SATA connectors ensure direct, secure connections to compatible controllers and drives. The cable supports high-speed serial data transfers and is built to meet typical server-grade electrical and mechanical requirements for internal data links.

Suitable for

• Connecting SAS controllers or expanders to multiple SATA hard drives or SSDs
• Server and workstation internal storage assemblies
• RAID array setups where multiple SATA devices are required
• Backup and archival storage systems requiring compact cabling

Key specifications

• Connector 1: mini SAS (male)
• Connector 2: 4 × SATA (male)
• Colour options: Black, White
• Type: Internal SAS-to-SATA breakout cable for data connections

How to use

Install the mini SAS end into the compatible mini SAS port on the server, RAID controller, or expander, ensuring correct orientation and a secure seating. Route the cable inside the chassis to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension, then attach each SATA connector to the corresponding drive. Verify drive detection in the system firmware or operating system and configure RAID or storage settings as needed.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use this cable within a standard server chassis environment, avoid tight bending radii near the connectors, and keep connections free of dust. Match the cable to controllers and drives that support the same transfer rates. If using in RAID configurations, ensure proper cooling and secure cable routing to prevent accidental disconnection during maintenance.
