USB 2.0 hosszabbító ROLINE 12.04.1100

The ROLINE USB 2.0 Extender (12.04.1100) extends a USB connection over standard RJ-45 twisted-pair cable up to 50 meters, enabling connection of USB devices such as printers or other peripherals located in another room. It supports USB 2.0 data rates up to 480 Mbit/s and is backwards compatible with USB 1.1/1.0. The extender uses a transparent housing and connects via Cat.5e/Cat.6 cable between the transmitter and receiver units.

Advantages

This USB 2.0 extender supports hot-plug operation and requires no additional software, allowing immediate use after connection. The kit includes a master unit with an integrated USB Type A male connector and RJ-45 interface, a remote unit with USB Type A female connector and RJ-45 interface, and a 5 V DC, 2 A power supply. The solution preserves USB 2.0 speeds over extended distances when using appropriate cabling.

Suitable for

• Connecting a USB printer located in another room to a PC
• Extending USB peripherals (scanners, webcams, keyboards) up to 50 m
• Office or home setups where a direct USB cable run is impractical

Plug the target USB device into the remote unit’s USB Type A female connector. Finally, connect the included 5 V DC, 2 A power supply to the extender if external power is required.

Recommendations

For reliable USB 2.0 performance at longer distances use high-quality Cat.5e or Cat.6 cable and avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power lines to minimise interference. Ensure the connected USB device does not require more current than the provided power supply can deliver.
