BlueOptics SFA21XK8 csillapító LC 8dB ezüst

The BlueOptics SFA21XK8 LC 8dB Silver attenuator provides 8 dB attenuation for multimode fiber links (50/125 µm) at 850 nm. Designed with an LC/UPC simplex connector and a ceramic ferrule, this inline optical attenuator reduces optical power to the required level for receivers on short-distance fibre runs and in environments where excessive transmission power can overload components. The unit is supplied in a silver housing and is suitable for telecommunications, data centre and laboratory use where controlled signal levels are required.

Advantages

The attenuator offers a precise 8 dB attenuation with low insertion loss and high return loss thanks to its polished LC/UPC connector and ceramic ferrule. Manufactured using branded optical fiber and quality connector components, it is tested with interferometer and OTDR to provide documented input loss and return loss values. The flame-retardant LSZH housing reduces smoke and eliminates halogen emissions, while the design meets common industry standards and Telcordia GR-326-Core 4.4 requirements.

How to use

Install the BlueOptics LC 8 dB attenuator inline between the transmitter and the receiver using the LC connector. Ensure connectors are clean and free of dust before mating to minimize return loss and insertion loss. Insert the attenuator into the patch cord or patch panel port until the connector latches; no special tools are required. Verify optical power at the receiver after installation and compare with expected levels using an optical power meter. Keep the included measurement protocol for reference.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before each connection and avoid excessive bending of the fibre near the attenuator. Use the 8 dB attenuation value when required to prevent receiver saturation; for different attenuation requirements choose the appropriate rated attenuator. Store and handle the attenuator in a dry environment and avoid exposure to mechanical shock beyond normal handling.
