Knipex 95 16 160 kábelvágó

The Knipex 95 16 160 power cable cutter is designed for precise cutting of copper power cables up to 50 mm² cross-section and a maximum diameter of 15 mm. Manufactured with stainless steel blades and fitted with ergonomically shaped red and yellow handles, this compact cutter combines corrosion resistance with user comfort. Certified by VDE, the tool meets recognized safety standards for electrical work. At approximately 262 g and with a depth of 165 mm, it is lightweight and easy to carry for everyday use on site.

Advantages

The stainless steel cutting head provides long-lasting sharpness and corrosion resistance, ensuring consistent cutting performance. VDE certification verifies the tool’s suitability for electrical applications and adds a layer of safety assurance. The ergonomically formed handles reduce hand fatigue during repeated use, while the compact size and low weight improve maneuverability in tight spaces. The simple, single-action cutting mechanism allows clean, reliable cuts on copper conductors.

Suitable for

• Cutting copper power cables up to 50 mm²
• Electrical installation and maintenance work
• Professional electricians and electrical contractors
• DIY electrical projects and home wiring repairs

Key specifications

• Cable capacity: up to 50 mm² cross-section
• Maximum cable diameter: 15 mm
• Material: stainless steel cutting head with insulated handles
• Handle colours: red and yellow
• Weight: 0.262 kg
• Overall depth: 165 mm

How to use

Position the cutter so the cable sits fully inside the cutting jaws at the recommended section for copper conductors. Apply steady, controlled pressure on the handles until the blades close and sever the conductor cleanly. For thicker cables, ensure the conductor is within the specified 50 mm² capacity and rotate the cable slightly if required to achieve a smooth cut. After use, wipe the blades clean of debris and store the tool in a dry location to protect the stainless steel cutting edges.

Recommendations

For safety, always verify that the cable is de-energized before cutting and follow applicable electrical safety procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as insulated gloves and eye protection, when working with power cables. Regularly inspect the cutting edges for damage and maintain the tool by cleaning and light lubrication when needed to preserve cutting performance.
