Telegärtner MPD6-HS Cat.6A patchpanel

The Telegärtner MPD6-HS Cat.6A patch panel is a modular rack-mount component engineered for structured cabling in high-performance Ethernet networks. Designed to accommodate Cat6a cable types, the unit provides organized port terminations for patching and distribution in server rooms, telecommunications closets and network cabinets. Its compact grey housing measures 164 mm wide, 34 mm high and 110 mm deep to fit standard installation environments while maintaining accessible rear termination and front patching positions.

Advantages

The patch panel offers consistent signal performance across Cat6a cabling runs and supports demanding data rates required by modern LAN and data center applications. Its compact dimensions save rack space, and the sturdy construction contributes to long-term mechanical stability and reliable contact integrity. The standardized layout simplifies installation and wiring, helping to reduce termination time and support predictable channel performance.

Suitable for

• Data centers and server rooms for high-speed Ethernet distribution
• Telecommunications cabinets and wiring closets
• Office networks and structured cabling backbones
• Environments requiring organized patching and easy maintenance

Key specifications

• Supported cable category: Cat6A
• Color: grey
• Width: 164 mm
• Height: 34 mm
• Depth: 110 mm
• Form factor: rack-mountable patch panel, modular design
• Application: high-performance Ethernet and structured cabling

How to use

Mount the patch panel in a standard rack or cabinet at the desired location, ensuring secure fastening to the rack rails. Terminate each Cat6a cable pair at the rear IDC or keystone slots according to the chosen wiring standard (TIA/EIA 568A or 568B). Route cables to minimize bend radius and mechanical strain, then test each terminated port with an appropriate network tester to verify continuity, pair configuration and performance parameters such as return loss and NEXT. Connect front-facing patch cords to the active network equipment as required.

Recommendations

For best results, use quality Cat6a cables and maintain proper cable management with horizontal and vertical organizers. Adhere to TIA/EIA wiring standards during termination and verify performance after installation. Avoid excessive bending and strain on cables near the panel and allow adequate airflow in enclosed racks to prevent heat buildup around active equipment connected through the panel.
